However, such contents will not be used for model training and optimization.

1.3 Input: Input refers to the text or images that users submit to GeoGPT when using the Product or the Service, such as the AI conversation feature. “Prompt” is a common type of input, usually in text form, that conveys the desired output characteristics. Prompts often describe the theme or object the user wants GeoGPT to generate and may include aspects like overall style, tone, or visual techniques. Some prompts are short and simple, while others are more detailed and require listing numerous elements. Users can input prompts once or repeatedly refine them until GeoGPT generates acceptable outputs.

1.4 Output: Output refers to the content and information in the requested format (e.g., text, report) generated by GeoGPT in response to user input when utilizing GeoGPT products or services, such as the AI conversation feature.

1.5 Zhejiang Lab: Zhejiang Lab is the operating entity of GeoGPT (hereinafter referred to as “we”). It is a non-profit innovative research organization.

1.6 User: A user (hereinafter referred to as “You” or a “GeoGPT User”) is any individual who accesses the GeoGPT Product or Service through browsing, registration, logging in, or other means of use. If multiple GeoGPT accounts are identified as being controlled by the same person through identity verification or GeoGPT’s investigation, they will be deemed to be a single user. GeoGPT is primarily intended for scientists, researchers, and professionals in earth science-related fields. Non-professionals interested in earth science knowledge are also welcome to use GeoGPT.

2.Account Registration and Use

You need to register an account before using our service to fully access GeoGPT's products and services. To complete registration, please provide accurate, complete, and truthful information, and keep it updated if any details change.

2.1 Account Registration Qualification

2.1.1 You confirm that when you complete the registration process or use our service in any permitted manner, you are a natural person with full civil rights capacity and civil conduct capacity (collectively referred to as “You”).

2.1.2 If you are a minor or a person with limited civil conduct capacity, you lack the aforementioned qualifications. You and your legal guardian shall bear all consequences arising from your improper registration.

2.1.3 You must also ensure that you are not subject to any trade restrictions, sanctions, or other legal or regulatory limitations imposed by any country, international organization, or region; otherwise, you may be unable to register for or use our services properly.

2.2 Account Registration and Login

2.2.1 Upon completion of the information requested on the registration page, reading and agreeing to the Terms, and finalizing the registration process, you shall acquire a GeoGPT account and become a user thereof. The system will automatically generate an "Account ID" for you. Access to your account may be gained via email/phone number and password, or through phone number and verification code login options. To ensure the security of your account, it is essential to create a complex password. It is recommended to enhance password complexity and resistance against unauthorized cracking by integrating uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters, and to update your password periodically (e.g., every three months). Avoid using common words or personal information in your passwords.

2.2.2 Your chosen account name must not contravene national laws, public order, good morals, social ethics, or our administrative regulations, nor should it cause confusion with our identity. Failure to comply may result in unsuccessful registration or cancellation of your account upon notification.

2.2.3 You are obligated to provide and maintain accurate account information as required by law or prompted by relevant pages, ensuring its veracity, timeliness, completeness, and accuracy. Should any provided information be incorrect, false, outdated, or incomplete, we reserve the right to inquire or request corrections. You must cooperate by furnishing or updating the necessary information. Any consequences or losses incurred from the inability to use your GeoGPT account (due to failed registration or account cancellation) or arising from the use of incorrect, untimely, incomplete, or inaccurate information shall be borne by you.

2.2.4 Under ordinary circumstances, your account serves as the unique identifier for all activities within this product. Unless otherwise agreed, each account can conduct activities independently. However, we reserve the right to uniformly handle multiple GeoGPT accounts owned or controlled by the same or associated legal entities based on our discretion. For instance, if we determine that different GeoGPT accounts are effectively controlled by the same user based on linked information during registration, login, or usage. Examples of such linked information include identical phone numbers, email addresses, devices, or physical addresses.

2.3 Account Use and Security

2.3.1 You have the right to log in and use our product with the account you set up. You acknowledge and agree that we may change, suspend, or cancel any service (including adding or removing product types, adjusting service content, upgrading versions, etc.), alter the characteristics or functions of a service, or modify the way a service is used and related content from time to time.

2.3.2 One GeoGPT account corresponds to only one legal entity. Unless required by law, judicial ruling, or with our prior written consent, you may not transfer, lend, rent, sell, gift, or allow others to inherit your GeoGPT account.

2.3.3 You are responsible for setting and keeping your account information secure. You must keep your account, password, verification codes, and other related information confidential. Ensure you properly exit the website at the end of each session.

2.3.4 You are responsible for taking reasonable steps to ensure account security and must not disclose your account details to others. If you detect any unauthorized use of your account or any security vulnerability that could lead to theft or loss, you must notify us immediately by email at support.geogpt@zhejianglab.org. Otherwise, you bear full responsibility for all activities conducted under your account. Note that we need reasonable time to act on your notification and are not liable for any losses occurring before we take actions.

2.3.5 We implement industry-standard security measures, such as regular security reviews and data encryption, to protect your account.

2.4 Account Cancellation and Appeals

2.4.1 Account Cancellation

(1) Your GeoGPT account may be canceled under the following circumstances:

a. Voluntary Cancellation. You may apply for cancellation by emailing support.geogpt@zhejianglab.org. After verifying your identity and meeting relevant conditions, we will process your cancellation request.

c. Inactivity-based Cancellation. If your account remains inactive for 24 consecutive months, we reserve the right (but are not obliged) to cancel it.

(2) Consequences of Account Cancellation:

a. Login and Data Access. After cancellation, you can no longer log in to GeoGPT and will lose access to all personal information, operation records, business data, and historical information under the account. You also will not be able to perform other operations dependent on account permissions.

b. Data Processing Obligations. We will cease collecting and storing your personal information and data (except as required by law) and will ensure that your data is not retrievable or accessible in our daily business systems, in compliance with national laws and regulations. However, we retain the right to fulfill relevant obligations under regulatory requirements or other legitimate scenarios (e.g., verifying user identity before cancellation).

c. Liability Explanation. You acknowledge that account cancellation does not exempt or mitigate you from any responsibilities arising from account-related actions prior to cancellation.

2.4.2 Appeals

(1) Upon account cancellation, you may lodge an appeal in the following manner:

a. Appeal Process. Submit a written request to support.geogpt@zhejianglab.org for account reinstatement. We will conduct a comprehensive review of your request and make a decision following the verification process.

b. Consequences of a Failed Appeal. In the event that you fail to provide the requisite documentation, or if your request does not pass the review, we reserve the right to impose prolonged restrictions on your account until the matter is adequately resolved. Should the issue remain irreparable or if it meets the stipulated conditions for account termination, we will proceed with account cancellation.

c. Handling of Associated Accounts. If one or more of your accounts are subject to cancellation due to illegal activities, violations, or breaches of contract, we will conduct a risk-based assessment of your other associated accounts. Depending on the outcome of this assessment, we may take necessary actions, including but not limited to the cancellation of those accounts.
